Welcome
I’ve been a photographer pretty much my entire life. I built my first darkroom at age sixteen, and I became totally immersed in the process of creating a photograph from beginning to end. From the artistry of composition to the technical mastery of a camera, to the chemistry of film and print, it is all there to enjoy and learn. There wasn’t anything else that could combine so many skills to one creative purpose. It takes a lifetime to do it well, and even then there is room for improvement.
My photography led me to the study of chemistry in college and after graduation a job in the electronics and fledgling semiconductor industry. Throughout my working and family life, there was always a day when I would pick up a camera and just take pictures, print or post them, and consider if it was a good composition or maybe could be better. There was always a camera, or two within grasp, and rolls of film to be developed every month. With digital photography the darkroom was replaced by software and a computer, though I still shoot film with my Bronica ETRS
